III. General information about cookies

Cookies are small data files that are stored on your device when you visit or use our website. They ensure the site works properly and offers a more user-friendly environment. Cookies enable the website to remember things such as your preferred language settings or help to ensure the ads you are shown are more relevant to you.

There are two types of cookies that we can automatically store on your device: (1) cookies that are used solely for the purpose of transmitting communication, and (2) cookies that are essential to enable us to provide you with the service you require. All other cookies, including preference and marketing cookies, will only be used if you have granted us your consent. You can always change your mind in the cookie settings on a particular website.

Session cookies are temporary files that the website only stores on your device until you close that website. Permanent cookies are stored on your device for a longer time, depending on the specific cookie file or your device settings.

First-party cookies are set by the website you visit and may be accessed and used by that website only. In addition to this, certain websites use external services that set their own cookies, which are known as third-party cookies.

IV. How we use cookies

We use cookies for three main purposes:

  • to ensure our website works properly
  • to store your preferences
  • to collect analytical data, to improve our services, and to target advertisements.

A) Necessary cookies

Cookies used for the operation of our website

These cookies are used to make certain parts of our website work when you request them. For this reason, they do not require your consent.

B) Preference cookies

Cookies are used to store your preferences

These cookies are used to store your preferred settings on our website (e.g. region). We only use these cookies with your consent.

C) Statistical and analytical cookies

Cookies to collect website usage data

These cookies allow us to recognize and count the number of users and collect information about the use of the website. We use this information to understand how the website works and to improve it. We only use these cookies with your consent.

D) Marketing cookies

Cookies are used to improve our services and target advertising.

Important: These cookies also belong to third parties and by accepting them you also agree to the respective third party cookie policies.

These cookies record your visit to the website, other websites you have visited and the links you have used. We use them to improve our service and to enable more personalised advertising. We only use these cookies with your consent.

All cookies used can be found in the table HERE.

V. How to manage cookies

Pursuant to generally binding legislation, we may only use the following cookies without prior consent: (1) cookies used solely for the transmission of communication, and (2) cookies that are essential to enable us to provide you with the service you have requested. If you do not grant us your consent to use other special-purpose cookies, these special-purpose cookies will not be stored on your device. We must point out that this may affect the functionality of certain elements of our website. Once granted, your consent may always be revoked by changing the cookie settings on the specific website.

Cookies can also be set directly in your web browser. The settings in your browser take precedence over the settings of our website. These settings can be found in the preferences of each individual browser. Guides for the most widely used browsers are available here:

VI. Use of advertising, preference and interest-oriented cookies (use of the Doubleclick for Advertisers service)

Our goal is to provide users of our website, apps and newsletter recipients with information, offers and content that is as tailored to them as possible. We do this not only through our websites, applications and communications, such as newsletters, but also through display ads and advertisements that we place on external websites and in external applications (e.g. Google Ads, Meta, etc.).

To maximise content personalisation, we create a profile based on your anticipated interests and preferences, based on your visits to our websites and apps and how you read and click on our newsletters. We tailor content, messaging and advertising on our websites and apps, as well as in our newsletters, based on these interests. The goal is to provide you with the most relevant offers and content possible. We do this on the basis of your consent (more information HERE) obtained via banner cookies and use the DoubleClick for Advertisers service (part of the Google Marketing Platform) provided by Google Inc., Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. We use this tool to display text and graphic ads on the search and content network. On the website, this tool targets and allows you to evaluate advertising messages based on what you do on the website.

VII. Management of third-party cookies

Besides our own (first-party) cookies, we also use third-party cookies in some cases, which enable us to better understand and improve the effectiveness of our ads. These cookies are provided by third parties and 2N does not have access to read or write the data they contain. We use the following tools and services: LinkedIn, Meta (Facebook), Google Tag Manager, Google Universal Analytics for traffic analysis, and Google Ads, including remarketing/retargeting and overviews of user demographics and interests. For more detailed information on how third-party cookies are managed and set up, please read their cookie policies:

Our website may also include tools or applications that are linked to social media service providers, such as Meta (Facebook), Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and others, to enhance your browsing experience and make sharing content easier. We also use Zopim chat to communicate with visitors, the marketing automation tool Pardot and heatmaps.

VIII. Use of social plugins

Our website uses the social plugins of several social media. These are the Meta (formerly Facebook) social network plugin, the WhatsApp Messenger and Messenger application plugins operated by Meta Platforms Inc., 1601 Willow Road Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA. We also use the Twitter network social media plugin, operated by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market St, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA, the LinkedIn network plugin, operated by LinkedIn Corporation, 1000 West Maude Avenue Sunnyvale, CA 94085, USA, the Pocket social bookmarking service plugin, operated by Mozilla Corporation, 650 Castro Street, Suite 300, Mountain View, CA 94041, USA, and others.

Social plugins can be identified by the individual logos visible on our website:

Meta (Facebook) plugins are marked with the Meta network logo, the "thumbs up" symbol, the "Like", "Like", "Recommend", "Share" or the "Meta Social Plugin" button.

Messenger plugins are marked with the Messenger logo.

WhatsApp Messenger plugins are marked with the WhatsApp Messenger logo.

Twitter plugins are marked with the Twitter logo, the word "Tweet" or the "bird" symbol or the "Tweet" button.

LinkedIn plugins are marked with a button that says "in".

Pocket plugins are marked with the Pocket logo.

If you are logged in to one of these social media networks under your username and password when visiting our website, information will be transmitted to that site about the website you are visiting, and you can link it to your user account. If you use social plugins, this means that when you share one of our websites or, with Meta, you use “Share” or “Like”, or “Tweet This” on Twitter, the content of our website is linked to your social media profile. The operator of that network can thus ascertain your username.

Please bear in mind that this data may also be processed by a provider in countries outside the European Union. 2N has no control over the scope, means or purpose of data processing carried out by internet social media providers. Also, please be aware that a social media service provider can use that data in accordance with the terms to which you agreed when creating your profile on that social media network.

Information on the purpose and scope of collected data, the further processing of such data and its use by social media service providers, as well as your rights relating to this issue and your privacy settings options can be found in the provider’s privacy policy:

IX. Final provisions
