What is 2N® Mobility Extension (ME, Mobex)?

2N® Mobility Extension will transform your office fixed line into a mobile phone and thus give you maximum flexibility. In practical terms that means, that you do not have to be in your office while waiting for important calls, or worry that you are going to miss a call that could mean a significant business deal for you. You can be reached on your way to work or at home, if you choose to work there. Your mobile phone fully replaces the fixed line and rings along it. It is entirely up to you, which phone you will pick up.

How does 2N® Mobility Extension (Mobex) work?

1. Incoming calls - calling outside your office

A customer is calling you on your fixed line, at the same time, both the fixed line and the mobile start ringing. It is up to you to decide, which phone you are going to use to answer the call - if you are in the office, you will pick up the fixed line, if you are out of the office, you will answer the mobile. After answering call on either of the phones, the other one stops ringing. When answering the call, your mobile phone becomes a fixed line and you can enjoy all the flexibility a switchboard has to offer. The caller will not notice any change, in fact, they cannot tell whether you are sitting at your desk or not.

2. Outgoing calls - calling outside from your mobile via 2N® Mobility Extension

You are on your way to work or enjoying the comfort of our home and need to call your partner abroad. It cannot be any easier and cheaper than to dial the SIM card number, saved in ME.
2N® Mobility Extension will recognize your number (which is registered in ME) and will allow you accessing the firm switchboard. Since then your mobile phone is the same as if you were using your fixed line for calling, and at the same call rate.

You are on your way from the office, when you realize you have forgotten to call your business partner in Canada?
You do not need to worry about how much your GSM operator is going to charge you for calling Canada. You only dial from your mobile the number for 2N® Mobility Extension → you only pay a cheap call within the GSM network, which thanks to using VPN SIM cards may be for free. You will access the firm switchboard via ME, and the call will be handled in the same way, as if you were sitting at your desk → thanks to other operators, the call rate may be very low!

Using 2N® Mobility Extension as a GSM Gateway

What is a GSM gateway and how does it work?
The GSM gateway is a facility that turns expensive calls from your office to a mobile phone, into calls within the GSM network. Imagine that you are calling from your fixed line to a mobile phone, and these calls are generally very expensive. The call goes from a switchboard to a GSM gateway (to 2N® Mobility Extension in our case), which thanks to more SIM cards, that are stored in it, chooses the cheapest call possible. If you call you colleague on his/her mobile and their number is included in VPN, the call will be the cheapest and may even be for free.

VPN SIM cards

You can achieve cutting down costs thanks to VPN SIM cards. What is VPN and how does that work?
VPN is a virtual private network, in which the numbers included in VPN are connected with each other at very low tariffs, with some operators calls within VPN may be for free. Provided that SIM cards included in VPN are stored in ME, a call from your mobile phone to ME is charged at rates within VPN, that is, it may be EUR 0.

Thanks to a low number of missed calls, you call back less often

As you can still be reached thanks to ME, you only miss a limited number of calls (only in situations when you are for instance in a meeting and cannot accept the call even on your mobile) which reduces the number of instances when you call back the number missed.
