How to Use 2N VoiceBlue Enterprise with an External SIP Proxy

Main Scenario

Suppose we have an IP network to which an SIP based VoIP PBX (SIP proxy), several SIP phones and the 2N VoiceBlue Enterprise GSM VoIP gateway are connected. Furthermore, suppose that the network is addressed as shown in the figure and GSM numbers are all 9-digit numbers starting with 6,7,8. For configuration simplicity, use SIM cards from one GSM provider or GSM carrier.

Principle

2N VoiceBlue Enterprise GSM IP gateway is registered in an external SIP proxy. All calls from the SIP proxy are forwarded to this GSM IP gateway (if the called number matches the conditions in the proxy).

Step by Step Configuration

Configuration of SIP lines

Switching and routing of calls take place among lines. In this sense, "line" is a virtual leased line? analogous to a classical telephone line. Calls come to VBE through these lines and can also be forwarded to them.

Configuration menu > Devices > SIP lines > Add SIP line

SIP server address ... SIP proxy IP address

Listening? port ... port for SIP signalling

Username ...the username under which the gateway shall be registered

Password ...registration password

Codecs ... codecs used for audio compression and transmission

Configuration of LCR

The LCR (Least Cost Router) is an automatic cost saving machine that selects the optimum output line for the called number. A suitable line is found according to the called number prefix. The call is forwarded to the first suitable route available.

Configuration menu > Time intervals > Add time range With this option, you can establish one or more time groups. The time interval can be chosen for days in a week and a certain time range.

Configuration menu > LCR > Routes > Add route

The route is the group of lines or GSM modules to which a call is forwarded.

Route name ... displays the name of the route

Lines of route ... chooses lines for call termination

Time intervals ... the time range for which the route is used (the intervals can be combined)

Configuration menu > LCR > Add

Prefix 1 (2,3,..) ... the called number prefix determines whether the call should be sent to the specified route (the dots behind the number denote a regular expression for any character - one dot represents one character).

Configuration menu > LCR > Add LCR table item > Next

Route name ... choose the route to be used for call termination.

Configuration menu > LCR > LCR test

This option helps you test whether the settings are OK.
